Pour it over your food, mix it with your milk, dip fruits in it, use it for your hair or face, or just pour it down your throat. Whatever you do, this is a great treat for your skin, body and health.

Honey is rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements. These include niacin and riboflavin. It also contains calcium, iron, magnesium and manganese. Honey is also a humectant. This means that it can attract and retain moisture. Honey is also anti-irritant and suitable for sensitive skincare. It contains flavonoids, phenolic acid, and antioxidants that scavenge and eliminate free radicals.

Since the beginning of time honey has been used to make beauty products. If you’ve ever used it in a formula on your hair or skin, you can see why. Honey is the best way to give your skin and hair a beautiful glow.

Honey Bath Add about 1/4 cup of honey into your bath. Mmmmm…sweet, silky and luscious.
Honey Cleaning Scrub: Combine 1 tablespoon honey with 2 tablespoons of finely ground almonds, and 1/2 teaspoon lemon acid. Rub gently on the face. Rinse with warm water.

Skin Toner : Blend an apple and one tablespoon of honey in a blender. This mixture can be applied to the face for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. This is a great Toner.
Firming Facial Mask: Mix together 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 white egg, 1 teaspoon of glycerin, and enough flour (approximately 14 cup) to form a thick paste. Smooth over the face and throat. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Smoothing skin lotion:Mix one teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon vegetable oil, and 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice. Rub on hands, elbows and heels, or anywhere else that feels drier. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with water. Take one tablespoon of honey and mix it with one teaspoon of milk in a bowl. Mix it well and apply to face. After ten minutes, rinse with lukewarm aqueous water. You will notice a difference in your skin immediately.

Hair shine:Stir one teaspoon of honey into four cups (one quart) warm distilled water. Blondes can add a little lemon juice. Pour mixture on hair after shampooing. Rinse out the mixture. Continue to dry as usual.

Hair conditioner – Mix half a cup honey with two teaspoons olive oil. Add three tablespoons if your hair is very dried. Then, section off the hair and cover it with the mixture. Cover your hair in a shower cap to avoid smearing the house. The shower cap also traps the heat of your scalp and allows the oils to penetrate deeper. After 30 minutes, wash off the shower cap.

Honey helps wounds heal faster. It controls the anti-oxidants that absorb oxygen from the air, and promotes faster healing without scarring. Ancient Egyptians used honey for cataracts, burns and cuts. Hippocrates the Greek physician prepared honey-based remedies for skin conditions and ulcers. German doctors dressed soldiers’ surgical wounds with honey and cod liver oil during World War I.
